We have two piles of lumber that have been delivered to our home and the framing will begin this week. That is very exciting to think that next weekend we will see some sort of structure coming up!

Basement
The basement is in as well as the plumbing! We made a trip up to our house today and we were shocked by the progress. Not just on our lot, but our whole street. As you will see in the pictures, almost the entire street is progressing way faster than we imagined. When we purchased our home, there was nothing on the street... No lots had been graded or anything. And as you can see there are houses where the exteriors are close to complete now! Incredible!

Moving along!
This was a very busy week for us. We packed up our house and the movers came on Monday. All of our things are now in storage waiting for the next two and a half months to be over and our house finished. Meanwhile we are staying with my parents.
The good news is that we just received word that the foundation is complete and the framing will begin next week! The lumber has already been delivered. We will be driving up tomorrow to take a look and hopefully take some pictures.

Groundbreaking news!
We just received an email with the attached pictures stating that they broke ground on our home last week! They dug the hole for the basement. Today they are pouring the concrete footers and the next two days will be spent putting up the concrete walls.
So things are started and seem like they are moving along!

Pre-Construction Meeting
Yesterday was our pre-construction meeting. I didn't attend, but John went. He met with our salesperson and the project manager who will be in charge of building our house!
They gave us our tentative schedule and have told us they are shooting for an October 1st settlement date! That is a couple weeks earlier than we were expecting, so that is exciting!! Although we know that things happen and we aren't putting all of our hopes on meeting that date, but still, fingers crossed!
Otherwise, they went over all of our options and the plans for the house. We also received the final layout of the house on the lot which is just slightly different than the one we originally saw. But it's still all good.
John said our PM was totally together and organized. He seems to be willing to help us in many areas. Such as, we want to put a doggie door in the side of the house. Our PM is willing to move wires in that location higher if we need them to be so that the door fits in well. That's a really nice thing to help us out with. So they are definitely accommodating for things like that.
They will be breaking ground on our lot next Thursday! They will send us a picture when they do and I will post here! We probably won't be able to be able to visit for about 3 weeks as we are in the middle of moving out of our current house. But there will be plenty to see when we make it there!
So we are on our way... we are very excited to start watching the house grow!
